The contest was first broadcast on WIP (AM). This year's Wing Bowl in Philadelphia is a chicken wing eating contest held just before the Super Bowl each year. About 150 people attended a Wing Bowl I (held in a hotel) in 1993 to see a contest between two contenders. The top of the wing is traditionally held the Friday before the Super Bowl next Sunday after Wing Bowl.
